As network partners in Grid Catalyst’s nationally-recognized startup accelerator program, Innovators Network members work with promising, early-stage energy startups selected from across the country. Together, they pilot emerging technologies in real-world applications.

1905 – Originated the revolutionary “two bundle” method, enabling windows to be assembled onsite in as little as 10 minutes, dramatically reducing installation time and costs.

1926 – Received their first patent for a specially-cut groove design that allows builders to adapt one standard frame for multiple opening sizes, streamlining construction processes.

1999 – Became the first window and patio door company to earn the EPA’s Outstanding ENERGY STAR Homes Manufacturer Ally award, recognizing their leadership in energy efficiency.

Today – Demonstrating their collaboration with the startup ecosystem and commitment to sustainability through venture investments and pilot programs with promising technologies that have the potential to make the world a better place.

The numbers underscore the importance of this work: Building heating and cooling accounts for 40% of total energy use in the United States, while heat gain and heat loss through windows are responsible for 25%–30% of residential heating and cooling energy consumption.

Through their participation in the Innovators Network, Andersen will have the opportunity to evaluate and pilot next-generation energy technologies that could further reduce these energy losses and advance building efficiency standards.
