Are you looking to expand your understanding of the energy sector and opportunities for entrepreneurship?
Join us for a presentation on how the energy sector is transitioning and creating new opportunities for innovation and startups. Aaron Hanson – University of Minnesota Institute on the Environment – will give an overview of the energy sectors and the changes and growth spurred by policy and public and private investments.

Who Should Attend?
Entrepreneurs working in other sectors, partners in economic development or entrepreneurial support, students, or those curious about the emerging opportunities and funding in energy and climate? Absolutely no STEM background is needed for this session. We encourage you to participate to learn how other talents and backgrounds are needed and welcome in the energy sector.
About the Presenters
Aaron Hanson works at the University of Minnesota’s Institute on the Environment (IonE) as the Energy Program Specialist for Leadership and Education. Aaron coordinates interdisciplinary energy transition research projects to ensure that systems-thinking is incorporated into the examination of new technologies and how they are deployed. He also manages IonE’s Clean Energy Leaders program and teaches courses in Sustainable Housing and Building Science, and Environmental Grand Challenges. Aaron has a background in construction, finance, and building energy modeling.
We will also be joined by a speaker from the Minnesota Department of Commerce Division of Energy Resources, who will highlight state and federal opportunities.
