Syncris is developing modular, scalable energy storage and grid-forming power conversion systems for utility and critical infrastructure applications. Syncris’s platform allows energy storage assets, renewable generation, and conventional power resources to operate together as resilient, intelligent energy systems, strengthening grid reliability and supporting critical operations when power continuity matters most. Designed as a flexible platform rather than a single-use product, Syncris helps utilities adapt their infrastructure as grid requirements evolve.

As part of their initial pilot in the 2022 Demonstration Cohort, Syncris completed a project with Nokomis Energy and TruNorth Solar in South Minneapolis.
Previous Behind-the-Meter Demonstration Project
Four solar-powered microgrids were installed and the solar energy produced was designed to be directed to separate behind-the-meter (battery) energy storage systems. The inverters’ performance was tested under various use scenarios to demonstrate the grid-forming capabilities of the technology.
